Plenty of students have been told that Shakespeare is “good for them”

– not nearly enough have been told that they are good for Shakespeare.

NYSX in Your Classroom

Our company’s educational approach encourages students to take an active role in the conversation, building a sense of ownership over Shakespeare’s words and ideas.  It is our hope that this ownership will not only increase the students’ confidence in approaching Shakespeare and other texts of the classical canon, but will inspire them to “talk back”, using the issues, technology and culture of their everyday lives to explode the possibilities of Shakespeare’s continuing legacy.

A Lesson Plan Built With Your Class In Mind

NYSX will create a lesson plan matched to your class’s skill level and educational goals, using issues that are already on your students’ minds as a jumping-off point.  Instead of a one-lesson-fits-all approach, we are excited to collaborate with you to customize a lesson to the unique needs and interests of your group.  Depending on your proximity to the NYC area and your school’s resources, we can have our teaching artists visit your class in person or virtually.
